The Man that raised me

The man that raised me
Is nowhere to be found, I cannot see
He left me alone, to him I do not belong
My Dad was mean, hatred in his veins
I hated him, myself, I was going insane
My Mother was hurt, her heart was breaking
My Brother needed a father, ours was a joke
Prayed God would end his life, take him away
But God had other plans, he just didn't say
I learned how to forgive, and mend my heart
God gave me a father, this is his new start
This man is new, Nothing like before
This was God's plan, this is what He had in store
I do not have the same Dad, but a father is what I see
A man that puts God first, A man who's there for me
My Dad made a change and shares his story
He follows God and gives Him all the glory
From the fire He gained his faith, he lost it all
He gained more back and now stands so tall
God directs his path, now he is never alone
He's now saved man, nothing he done on his own
The man that raised me I cannot see
But the Father, God designed just for me
You are the man you were always meant to be
So, this is my heart on my sleeve
I love you, don't you know
I look up to you now, you lead, and I'll follow
